One Year Anniversary | The Rockford Inn - Bed & Breakfast | Dobson, NC | Shelton Vineyards |

We're still reminiscing from our one year anniversary trip to Dobson, NC and I thought I would share a little with you all.. We had such a great time and enjoyed Doug and Hannah's hospitality SO much. You both really outdo yourselves for your guests!

As soon as we pulled up we were amazed with the property - instantly wishing that we had this much land and of course, the vineyard in the backyard!

Walking into this sweet home you can see the features that show so much history throughout the house. It was built in the 1840's and is located on six acres. As soon as we made our way through the house we smelled coffee brewing and fresh cookies on the table - and let me tell you.. those cookies were to die for.

After we made our way though the house we went for a walk through the vineyard, took some selfies and tasted some sweet muscadines straight off the vine.

After arriving on the property we met with one of the owners, Hannah (great name btw) and she gave us a tour throughout the house. Once we made it upstairs in our sweet little suite Cody made himself right at home LOL.

After we got settled in we decided on dinner for the evening at The Depot, which was actually an old train station! Definitely a must eat if you are traveling throughout Yadkin County! Unfortunately, I didn't think about taking a picture of our food but you guys, those ribs... were SO GOOD. Literally falling off the rack. I definitely recommend! The next morning we woke up to the smell of bacon and this french toast you see below. YOU GUYS.. when I tell you I haven't had anything like it before you'd think I was lying, but boy that blueberry pecan french toast was literally heaven. Hannah, Doug is a lucky man!! She also added the little parfait cups with fresh fruit and of course, blueberries from their property.

After finishing breakfast we grabbed our coffee and headed outside on the front porch. This just topped off my morning! Being able to sit outside and sip on our coffee and just enjoy listening to the birds and feel the breeze was just perfect. I had my camera out on the porch and started to give the hubs a few lessons so he started taking a few pictures.. (I know I look mad in that first pic but I was just zoned out y'all LOL) But you'll have to give him some credit, a few of these pictures are his! & of course if you'd ask him, he was a professional just after this lesson. ;)

Finally, after we got motivated after that loaded breakfast and lots of coffee we went upstairs to begin packing... even though I did not want to leave that porch at all. I could've sat there all day. We got ready, packed our bags and headed out to one of the only vineyards that was actually open on Monday. Shelton Vineyards was only about 20 minutes from the Rockford Inn so we put it in our maps and ventured on. Once we arrived we were actually the only ones there! We were able to do our tasting before the tour and picked out some of our favorites from their list. After the tasting we took a special tour from Miss Linda, who was retired and worked at Shelton part-time because she got bored sitting at home and not talking with people. & if anyone knows Cody, you know he likes to talk! We learned a lot from Miss Linda including the fact that they make 52 bottles of wine per minute on site! If you've never been to a vineyard and toured, we highly suggest it! It's pretty cool to hear about their story!

After our tour we picked up a few souvenirs to take home with us. ;) We highly recommend the Rockford Inn Bed and Breakfast. Doug and Hannah, you guys were the sweetest and we were so thankful to have been given this trip by my wonderful parents. We had such a great time and honestly, we still can't believe it has already been one full year since we said "I Do." Cheers to many more adventures and a lifetime of happiness!

Love,

Mr. & Mrs. Stone
